Farewell to a Podcast respected by many, ITT

Uncategorized December 16th, 2007

When I first started listening to podcasts, In The Trenches was the one I would not miss. I would have a hard time waiting for their next show to be published.

I think ITT set the benchmark for many other podcasts. As well as inspiring podcasts like A Couple of Admins.
Kevin and George thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with so many. You will be missed.

Keep it a Merry Christmas.

I just wanted to post a copy of this email that I received. Why, you might ask? Because this one almost got me. I pay my bills but do use EBay. When I saw this I thought “what the heck I better get this cleared up”. My first instinct was to click the link on the email. I did not but rather went strait to EBay. There was nothing listed on my account and or in my messages. I have gone through disputes with things before and know I would have seen something here. So just for fun I followed the link.

I got this;

Well I tried to dissect it a bit. The IP did not resolve to a domain. So, I used an online locator service. It appears it is owned by an ISP in China.

So, the moral of the story. Keep it a Happy Holidays. Question emails that you are not expecting, and verify them a different way before accepting them as valid.

Looking to waste some time?

Here is a link to a couple games that are simple and simply fun.

This one I got originally from XPNEWS

Check them out and let me know if you have any other fun time wasters.

I wonder how much money a site like this can make off of advertising?

I like the looks of this ->

I saw this and though, wow instead of carrying around a full size access point this is nice. It’s portable and has a nice convenient case. As well it operates in numerous modes. I think an item like this is a must have for a traveling Network Administrator. I also see it useful by people who do training and sales.

Have you seen other products like this? Let me know.

Would You Like to get a Copy of the First Season of the IT Crowd?

Uncategorized September 22nd, 2007

The DVD of the first season of the IT Crowd was released when I was in Canada recently. I was unable to locate a copy at a store. So, my wife ordered it from I just received it a few days ago.  If you are a die hard fan of the series give it a try and let me know if you have any troubles. But I am excited.

I don’t think when Keith introduced me to the series the IT Crowd he ever anticipated how much of a groupie  I would become.

Seagate’s new line of hard drives | Tech News on ZDNet

We have talked in the past episodes about backing things up to hard disk. Well Seagate seems to have a drive “DAVE” (digital audio video experience) that can do all that and more. But if your not going to let it become dormit make sure you back it up to something else.

The IT Crowd – Season 2 it has Started!!!

Uncategorized September 1st, 2007

You can watch the episode 1 of season2 @

I wish the UK would let me purchase a legal copy of the first season.
If You have no idea what I am talking about go to Channel4 in the UK’s  web-site
The IT Crowd is a comedy about an IT department for a company in the UK.
The problem is that the UK has some law that does not allow people in other countries to download their TV shows. So I have mostly been able to view the first season by searching you-tube and other such sites.

RSS Feed

Uncategorized May 24th, 2007

Following our exposure on The Mike Tech Show and In The Trenches, we received several requests for an RSS feed for the show.  In my original haste to put things together, I only created a feed for iTunes.  A new RSS feed has been setup and will be maintained from this point forward.  There is a link in the sidebar to the right under ‘Show Stuff’, but I’ve also included it here.
